Lucky Rwandan models will be selected for the first time at the most prestigious runways in the world to be held in Dubai and Italy this year. Models are sending their applications to stand a chance of becoming Rwanda’s Global Top Model, who will participate at Dubai International Fashion Week, The Look of the Year and World Top Model. The Registration which is open to both genders between 18-years to 30-years of age is done by sending Names, Age, Phone Number, Height, headshot and a full picture not taken by a phone to be sent on Rwandaglobaltopmodel@gmail.com. Registration will be closed on January 12, while the winners will be announced on February 25. Organised by Embrace Africa, the model contest aims at sending Rwandan models to world fashion events that have developed famous top models like Naomi Campbell and Gisele Bundchen who are among the three top paid models in the world. These models have also participated at Victoria Secret, a famous and strong fashion stage that is arguably not easy to be at. Paulette Ndekwe, organizer of the contest told The New Times that this is indeed a huge opportunity to all Rwandan models that look forward to broadening their modelling career and take it to a much bigger stage since it will be the first Rwandan models being part of these events. “No Rwandan model has ever participated on the stage of any of these world fashion events. They will get a chance to perform at Dubai International Fashion that won an award as the best fashion event in Dubai right now and ‘The look of the year’ which will be held in Italy as well as ‘World Top Model. Registration is underway so we ask models in Rwanda to try their chance and for those who will win; it will be a life changing experience in their careers.
