Rayon Sports skipper Abdul Rwatubyaye has started training after three months on the sidelines. The towering central defender has not featured for the Blues since October 2022 after he suffered a knee injury. The Rwanda international was seen training alone on Wednesday, January 4, as Rayon officially resumed sessions at their training grounds in Nzove ahead of the second round of the 2022/23 season which begins on January 20. He did some light work including jogging and he will continue with the routine at least until the end of January as he pushes to return to action in February. Head coach Francis Haringingo will be happy to have Rwatubyaye back soon to help him fix the club’s defensive problems which cost them important points during the last games of the first round of the league. Rayon sit fifth on the league table with 28 points from 15 games, two points behind table leaders AS Kigali. Rwatubyaye joined Rayon Sports in August 2022 from Macedonian giants FK Shkupi who parted ways with him in June after losing patience with his lengthy heel injury that kept him out of action for nine months.
