Restaurants in Kigali are many but those that prepare good meals and in short period of time are awfully rare; that’s why my recent discovery of Kimihurura’s La Fiesta which is such a treat. La Fiesta’s restaurant and bar has a touch of class and customer satisfaction that tourists and natives of the area crave for. It offers gorgeous views to visitors and a diverse menu that caters for all its clients. Cuisine Entering La fiesta Mexican restaurant’s premises makes your nose tingle. The aroma of the ingredients and flavours used in preparing of the meals gives good appetite. The restaurant serves a variety of traditional, Mexican and other international meals, prepared using high class cookware, ingredients and experienced chefs. The buffet is served at Frw2500 gets you all you want to eat, along side a Fanta. The food has an exquisite taste. I had a pasta dish with Roquefort and mushrooms. My associates had chicken and white rice with fresh tomatoes. We all left the venue contented. Ambience La Fiesta’s ambience is cool and relaxing, providing a welcome break from the city’s noise and congestion. The high walls surrounding the restaurant make it a bit of a hide-out; a safe place that offers an environment for people that would want to spend some time in isolation. The restaurant provides small rooms that favour all sorts of private conversations. Outside the restaurant is a very large compound with scattered vegetation that provides beautiful scenery and a breath of fresh air. Part of the compound serves as a parking yard for customers’ vehicles. There are also recreational facilities, including a sand volleyball court, swimming pool, tennis court, and pool table, as well as a jungle gym for children. As for music, there’s a great mix of local and international melodies. Sports fans can kick back and watch games on a DSTV set. Thomas C. Williams, the managing director of the restaurant, is hospitable and is always open to chatting with customers. Décor The décor consists of locally-made arts and crafts work. The mural paintings in particular give the place a memorable ambience. The restaurant itself is eye-catching. Dinner tables are covered with red and white fabric and each has a beautiful glass lamp as the centrepiece. When a buffet is on, desserts are very hard to resist.
