Defending champions Rwanda Energy Group (REG) women basketball team have completed the signings of four players from cash-strapped The Hoops Rwanda ahead of the new season. The new players include point guard Rosine Micomyiza, center Nadine Rutagengwa, point guard Faustine Mwizerwa and shooting guard Ramura Munezero. Micomyiza, Rutagengwa and Mwizerwa signed a one-year contract each while Munezero signed a two-year deal. Times Sport understands that The Hoops are experiencing financial constraints, prompting the quartet to consider their future elsewhere with more players reportedly forcing a move out of the club before the season begins. REG is banking on the new players to carry the team ahead of the new season as they look to defend their title when the national basketball league kicks off on January 13.
