NYAGATARE-At least 130 classroom blocks are set to be constructed in Nyagatare district during the second phase of the nine-year basic education programme. Speaking to The New Times last Friday, Martin Hitimana, the District director of education said that construction works have already started. “Fifty classroom blocks are at the foundation level,” he said. Hitimana noted that fewer classrooms would be constructed compared to the first phase. ‘This phase is not as hard as the first phase where we constructed over 250 classroom blocks in the district. We need to speed up construction works so that by the end of this year everything will be complete,’ he said. He mentioned Matimba, Rwempasha and Karama sectors as some of the areas where the classrooms would be built. Ends
