On New Year's eve, many Rwandans gathered in different venues for a crossover overnight to 2023, making time for praise, worship and prayer. Forget what happened in the past and look forward to the future, said Pastor Charles Mugisha of NewLife Bible Church. Quoting from the Bible, he said: If God is for us, who can be against us? Your 2022 doesn’t define your 2023. Press on with what’s ahead and forget what’s behind. Paul Gitwaza, the Senior Pastor of Zion Temple Celebration Center, lead a mass gathering at the BK Arena. He told the congregation: I do not know what you went through in the past, or what you are currently going through but what I know is that the later days will be better than the former. I would like to encourage you to keep your eyes focused on God and not on people. He said that 2023 is a year of replacement. During the Congregation at Masoro Evangelical Restoration Church Apostle Joshua Masasu told the congregation that this year, they are going to see God more than the way they hear about him. He explained that when God manifests and reveals himself there is no need of words. Masasu preached on the empowering of the Holy Spirit throughout 2023.
