MTN Peace cup final Saturday Rayon vs APR RAYON Sport players stand to get huge bonuses if they beat APR in Saturday’s MTN Peace Cup final, according to the club Secretary General Olivier Gakwaya. Since 2004 when the side lifted the national league title, Blues’ fans have had to watch on in agony as their arch rivals APR exert their dominance in the country. Rayon, whose season has been marred by financial woes, had an effortless walk into the final when there would be semi-final opponents Atraco pulled out of the competition last week citing financial constraints. Gakwaya yesterday told Times Sport that the final means a lot for the club. “We have a good opportunity to end our trophy drought and should make the most of it. We also know that if we win, we shall automatically qualify for the Caf Confederation Cup so as it is, there is a lot at stake,” Gakwaya said before adding, “I can not reveal the amount at stake for the players.” While Rayon interim coach Emmanuel Ruremesha could not be reached for comment by press time, sources within the club said that only one player-defender Lomami Marcel is certain to miss the final through injury.
