Okay, okay after 4 years of anticipation, we are back again to the time when men love football more than women! Anyway, ladies, it’s high time you got used to it and hang in there till July 11th, 2010. You may be aware or probably not, it’s my first time to actually care about what is going on in the world cup, to me it’s very fascinating to watch the excitement, restlessness and the general mood among students during this time. Even the ones whose voices I’d almost never heard have been similar that of a chicken being chased when it comes to the whole world cup saga. It’s funny how we have all become worked up suddenly; we already have people displaying some serious talent via foretelling and prophesying. Well, that’s the whole point. I mean, what would this season be without the vibe? 64 matches by 32 teams, 23 sponsors and in 10 huge stadiums! Goodness! You can only imagine how much is invested in this tournament every four years. I tell you, if I was a South African, I think I’d drop out of school to do business because you can be sure everyone is in business including the thieves! However, the economy is shooting up quite remarkably thanks to the world cup (and maybe one day, it will be Rwanda hosting) oh! How I wish I live long enough to see that day… We have people wondering ‘why world cup and not ‘world plate’ or even spoon for that matter?’ Even if I found it the funniest question of the season, I too don’t understand what the answer could possibly be! Anyway, good for me, any utensil can do. On top of that, others are literally becoming world cup zombies! Thinking, talking, singing and debating about the world cup soccer. In fact, eating, breathing, sleeping and practically living in the world cup! Others simply attempting to be more of coaches than the coaches themselves (not to mention through television)… it’s a hilarious scene this season has made. There is too much to talk about, too much to celebrate, and why not? Gentlemen this time round, get the ladies up and lets enjoy this season to the fullest!
