Tetteh backs Ghana for World Cup success

AMAVUBI head coach Sellas Tetteh is backing his native Ghana to win the 2010 Fifa World Cup. Ghana, who will have to do without the services of their star player Micheal Essien, is drawn in Group D alongside Germany, Serbia and Australia and Tetteh reckons that a good start is key. “In such big tournaments, it is very important to get off to a good start because it boosts your confidence,” he noted.“No body knew thirty years ago that a black man would become President of the United States of America, or no one could have predicted 10 years ago that an African team would win the Under-20 World Cup. (Tetteh won the under-20 world cup with Ghana last year),” he said. “This is Africa’s year to show case its potential and the European based players should make the most of it.”The 52-year-old also thinks that Rwanda’s target of playing at the World Cup before 2020 is plausible. “We are on a strong course which will yield good results in the near future. Nothing is impossible.” Ghana kick off their campaign this Sunday against Serbia and Tetteh confirmed that he would watch that game.“I want to watch that game and few more.” Ends
