Kagame Cup Today (Semi-finals)Atraco vs St.George ATRACO’S influential Ugandan winger Alimasi Kadogo will not take part in this afternoon semi-final tie against Ethiopian side St.George. The 27-year-old is still carrying an ankle injury sustained during Atraco’s 3-0 defeat against Sofapaka at the group stage. Coach Sam Timbe has now confirmed that Uwimana D’Amour will deputize for the Ugandan. “He (Kadogo) will not play tomorrow (today) but Uwimana did a good job against Vital’O and he should start against St. George,” he said before adding, “St.George have good players and of course Jimmy Gatete is a threat but my boys are full of confidence after Tuesday’s 2-0 win over Vital’O.” While retaining the trophy would be outstanding, Atraco can still rewrite history as the first Rwandan side to reach the Cup final in succession if they oust St.George.Last year, Atraco beat home side El Merreikh 1-0 to lift their maiden title. Hamis Kitagenda was the hero on the night, scoring the sole goal in the 15th minute after a clever pass from Andre Lomami. The tournament winners are set to pocket $30,000 while first and second runners up are set to bag $20,000 and $10,000 courtesy of President Paul Kagame. Ends
