Through you I want to pass on my heart felt appreciations to the administration, staff and all the people at King Faisal Hospital for their services. There is a saying that goes never judge a book by its cover, but I want to slightly differ from it and say that in most cases what feels the inside affects the outside. A few days back a little boy close to where we live was knocked down by a fast running car, thank God the driver stopped and picked up this little boy and rushed him to KFH. Today I took some time and paid him a visit in the hospital, and whatever I saw while there was something that would help a patient get better pretty soon. Starting from the gate to the inside, the floors were just sparkling and very clean, the staffs were smart especially the receptionists. I have been to some other hospitals in some of our neighboring countries and you cannot believe the smell that is all over the wards. The rest/wash rooms were horrible and you would want to leave the place as soon as possible. You may ask how I got to know all this. Some day, I stayed in a hospital (whose name I will keep to myself) taking care of my uncle’s son. While at the KFH I visited the children’s ward and as I walked through the corridors something caught my eyes and these were the paintings on the walls of the hospital, you would easily be reminded of the pre-school paintings. Because this was my first time to see such in a place called hospital I tapped the friend that was with me and asked him where we were and he said, ‘in the infants ward.” We continued into the ward and thank God we got the doctors doing what they know how to do best. I loved the attention and the kind of relationship the doctors were offering the young patients. For the first time I saw a doctor hugging a patient so passionately and not only that but also this little boy we had gone to visit pulled the doctor close and whispered into his ear and at the end of it they were all smiles. As if that was not enough, time came for us to leave, the little boy we had gone to visit was in a wheel chair and my friend started to push it towards the corridor telling me we had to leave. I asked him where we were heading with the boy and he pointed to a play room at the end of the corridor. The room was packed with lots of play items for the kids and we found so many kids having fun in there. The conditions at the hospital believe you me can speed up the healing process. Visit the place and you will love it A-Z.This was a new experience for me and you might be asking where I have been going for treatment. God has been good to me and that way I am a rare visitor in hospitals. I just want to thank every one at KFH for all your efforts. Kicukiro
