Rwandans in Diaspora here for dialogue summit

KIGALI - The National Dialogue Summit starts today with 120 Rwandans from the Diaspora expected to attend. Local Government minister, Protais Musoni, confirmed yesterday: “They are all in the country and we expect them to be with us during the summit.” Musoni said that the two-day summit at Parliamentary Buildings in Kimihurura will mainly focus on the country’s economic revolution and the integrated development programme that the government has adopted. They will also discuss modalities on creating a friendly investment environment to attract foreign businesses to the country. “We shall also be reviewing the performance contracts (Imihigo) at the district level and the inauguration of the trainers for the Itorero ry’Igihugu (a cultural education programme),” Musoni added. Since the launch of the Itorero ry’Igihugu last month, at least 24,000 people have been trained to help teach in their respective villages. The summit will also discuss what Rwandans in the Diaspora can do to play a key role in the development of the country. Ends
