APR have been told to cough Rwf25m before signing Taifa Stars and Yanga striker Mrisho Ngassa. The club’s Secretary General Lawrence Mwalusako said that several clubs are interested but can’t meet Yanga’s asking price. “We have received various offers for the player but they have all been below our asking price,” he was recently quoted by the Tanzania media. Israel’s Hapoel Tel Aviv and Azam are some of the clubs who have expressed interest. A few weeks ago, Azam tabled Rwf12.5m for the hit man but their bid did not impress Young Africans. The skillful forward is said to have agreed personal terms with APR. Early this month, Ngassa was a thorn in the wound for Amavubi during the first leg of the 2011 CHAN final qualifying round leveling for Taifa Stars to leave the tie open ahead of the second leg. In the past, Ngassa has also been linked to English Premier League side West Ham and Lov-Ham of Norway. Ngassa was the top scorer at last year’s CECAFA Challenge Cup with five goals. Ends
