Soccer APR Secretary General Adolphe Kalisa claims the club is on the verge of signing Young Africans (Yanga) and Taifa Stars striker Mrisho Ngassa. The ten-time league champions have been long-time admirers of the striker and after preliminary talks, Kalisa told Times Sport yesterday that they had agreed to Ngassa’s personal terms and that are now set to finalise talks with Yanga. “We have had successful talks with Ngassa so what is left is to reach an agreement with Yanga. If all goes well, the deal should be done before the end of the week,” Kalisa said. The skillful forward, who can also play on the right wing, was a handful for Rwanda’s Amavubi Stars during the first leg of the CHAN final qualifying round played in Dar es Salaam early this month. The tie ended in a 1-all draw. Ngassa, who finished as top scorer (5 goals) in last year’s Cecafa Challenge Cup has in the past been linked to English Premier League side West ham and Lov-Ham of Norway. Ends
