Second Div Playoffs La Jeunesse 1-1 Nyanza (Agg 1-1)Muhanga 1-0 Kibuye (Agg 2-0) June 9 Final La Jeunesse vs Muhanga Despite going the whole season without tasting defeat, Nyanza’s dreams of playing in the top flight division went through the window when they were held to a 1-1 draw by La Jeunesse in the return leg match. The first leg in Kigali ended 0-0 and the visitors La Jeunesse went through on the away goals rule. The Southern Province club failed to score in the first leg and needed to win the return leg to qualify for the top flight but Hamis Rwabukwisi’s youthful side got nervous after La Jeunesse got the lead through striker Idrissa Manirafasha. “It is really disappointing that after a brilliant season which promised so much has yielded nothing. “My players got nervous after La Jeunesse got the lead and I cannot blame them because they are young and inexperienced when it comes to such matches, Nyanza coach Rwabukwisi told Times Sport. He noted, “I think the players have learnt a valuable lesson and will come back stronger next season.” In the other playoff games, Muhanga won 1-0 against Kibuye to qualify for the Primus League. Kibuye, relegated from the top flight last season had also lost by the same score in the first leg. It’s Muhanga’s first appearance in the top division. The final to determine the champions of the second division will take place on June 9. Ends
