Indian firm to inject Rwf17m in IT training institute

IHT Network Limited, one of India’s largest organisations in providing computer hardware, software and networking training is set to invest Rwf17m as a move to establish a base in the Rwandan market. The Managing Director of IHT network limited, Umesh Chaudhary said that the company with academic ties with leading companies such as Microsoft, Comptia and Prometric is looking at establishing a network of training centre in East Africa. “The courses that we will offer have great acceptance in corporate world and students get placed immediately after completion and our placement cell has provided jobs to more than 50,000 students and the facility will be extended to Rwanda,” said Chaudhary. The training centres will run under the franchise arrangement with a local master franchisee in charge of expanding centres with IHT providing training, instructors, technical support. Chaudhary also said that they are talking to Rwanda Development Board on how to register and they have identified about 5 candidates out of whom they will choose the best master franchisee. The IT training company is also set to stump their presence in the region with a cash budget of US60, 000 to be invested in Uganda from where they will move to Tanzania. The company boasts of a large existing network all over India with a student base of 25000 studying in 125 centres expanding to Nigeria as well. The institutes will offer certificate and diploma courses for a maximum period of 14 months with tuition fees ranging between US$800 to $1200. “We are ready to start as soon as we get a master franchisee, and this will give Rwandan students an international exposure,” added Chaudhary.
