THE second edition of the 2010 inter-club athletics championship is scheduled for this Saturday at Amahoro stadium according to the National Athletics President Jean Paul Munyandamutsa. The tournament is organized after every two months and so far Eleven clubs have confirmed participation in the one day event and they include APR, Police, NAS (New Athletics Stars), Puma, Muhanga, Kamonyi, Rulindo, Nyamasheke, Musanze, Rumuli and National University of Rwanda (UNR). Munyandamutsa also revealed that the competition will be used to select Rwanda’s team at the 17th edition of the African Championship in Nairobi-Kenya in July.“It will be a very lively event since athletes will be looking to get onto the plane for the African Championship.”Kamonyi won the first edition back in January. In a related development, registration for the sixth edition of the Kigali International marathon is on-going according to one of the event organisers Florent Rwigema. Ends
