MTN unveils ‘Bebeza’ cash promotion

MTN Rwanda last week unveiled “Bebeza Cash” a new promotion in which MTN customers will win cash over a period six weeks to get them ready for the 2010 FIFA world cup. Speaking to the media at the MTN centre in Nyarutarama, the Corporate Communications Manager of MTN John Bosco Sendahangarwa said that the promotion will start May 3 to 11th June where MTN will give cash prizes to their lucky customers. “The launch of Bebeza Cash follows the highly successful FATA Cash promotion that took place last year where 141 people from across Rwanda won cash prizes. This year, MTN will give away Rwf 10 million every week ranging from Rwf 375,000 to Rwf 2 million to twenty lucky numbers drawn at random. The promotion’s grand prize winner will receive Rwf 10 million,” Sendahangarwa said. Sendahangarwa added that to enter the draw, customers will have to send an SMS, use data or load airtime within the 7 days prior to the weekly draw. MTN Rwanda Brand and Sponsorship Manager Rachel Mulinde explained that the draw will be based on a Random Generation System that qualifies all the potential winners before activating the random selection. “The draw will be live on radio show on City Radio and Flash FM and the winners’ numbers will be published in the print media. The winners will be invited to a predetermined location every Wednesday after the Monday Draw to collect their cash,” Mulinde said. “This promotion which starts just six weeks before the start of the 2010 World Cup finals gives MTN customers a great opportunity to purchase anything of their choice or make an investment in education, business or buy a satellite dish or even tickets to South Africa to watch the World Cup,” Mulinde added.
