NORTHERN PROVINCE BURERA — Fifteen-class rooms in four different schools in Cyanika sector, worth Frw90 million were early this week commissioned. The buildings were constructed through community support program-ubudehe. The European commission and common development fund [CDF] are the program funders. Residents contributed some building materials and manual labour worth Frw58 million representing 65% of total cost.Commissioning the classrooms, the district mayor, Aime Bosenibamwe, asked the residents to double their working hours to reduce poverty. He noted that if they could make better use of the available resources, then they would be trusted with much more funding. Jean Pierre Dekens, head of the delegation of the European commission in Rwanda, after inspecting of the fully fledged class rooms, commended the residents for their efforts and asked them to enroll their children in schools. The residents promised to work hard to tap Ubudehe support. This year the district received over Frw3 million for poor families to fight poverty. It also emerged that the district last week, scooped first position in fighting corruption and injustice countrywide. Ends
