In a bid to boost Rwanda’s budding music industry, Uncle Austin, a locally renowned artist and presenter on Radio 10, has formed a female music group. According to Uncle Austin, the group dubbed ‘Real Four Female’ is the first ever female musical group in the country. The group is composed of four ladies between the ages of 18 and 20; all from different higher learning institutions. “Apart from male groups and other females singing on personal basis, I realized that the industry was lacking a group of young talented ladies,” said Uncle Austin, also the group manager. “The group has a brand name ‘J-A-V-K’, where each letter represents the girls’ names,” Uncle Austin revealed. “The girls will first learn dancehall before we introduce them to other genres of music.” Uncle Austin joined the music industry in 2005, but due to other responsibilities, he was forced to pullout, until last year when he switched back to music. He has worked with several local famous artists, including Meddy and The Ben. Ends
