Amazing how Rwandan kids are into ICT

No wonder Geraldine Namirembe Bitamazire the Ugandan minister of education had to say that they (Ugandans) would borrow a leaf on how Rwanda has managed to develop her Information Communication Technology advancement to Primary school level.I was surprised to find children of primary school age talking about their email addresses and passwords. If I also had a way of asking the ministry of education how they managed to get such children involved in the use of computers to the extent of mastering their email addresses and passwords, I would do that whole heartedly. God knows who writes to them and vice-versa.The kind of computer knowledge I expect these kids to have would be like opening documents, trying out typing, learning how to use it in drawings and may be surfing for children websites not getting fully involved in the internet world of sending and receiving emails.Though Ugandans got involved into the ICT world before Rwanda, given the many facilities in place (internet cafes, institutions of learning), little efforts have been made to interest children into computer use.There are few schools (posh ones) that have computer laboratories and they too teach the kids only the essentials of computer use not the internet surfing the children here are involved in.Thank you Mineduc for the efforts; hope our children will be safe from the negative part of the wire world.
