WESTERN PROVINCE NYAMASHEKE — The Chief of General Staff, Gen. James Kabarebe, has urged members of a traditional informal school - Itorero - of Nyamasheke and Rusizi districts to fight poverty.He also urged the group to promote good governance.Addressing the group recently in Rwimbogo and Ruharambuga sectors, Kabarebe noted that bad governance bred conflicts. “Our country went through many problems in the past regimes, but now its time to employ all strategies to rebuild it. One of them is to reduce poverty and promote good governance in the region because poor governance makes citizens fight each other,” the General said.He also urged the group to love each other and to love their country by promoting unity and reconciliation. He also cautioned the group against genocide and ethnic divisionism.Participants were also urged to be innovative and inculcate discipline among the children.They [participants] promised to disseminate the knowledge they acquired from the training to others, and to fight genocide ideology in the country.There are over 1000 participants from the two districts.Mayor Vincent Muragwa, of Nyamasheke district and Jean Pierre Turatsinze, of Rusizi attended the function among others.
