APR assistant coach Eric Nshimiyimana claims his club is best placed to lift this year’s Primus league title. With a luxury of two games in hand, the reigning champions enjoy a two-point cushion at the top of the table and Nshimiyimana feels the title is theirs to lose. On Thursday, the team showed their depth when they thumped Mukura 4-1 minus five key players in skipper Patrick Mafisango, Didier Kapet, Tchimanga Mutamba and the Malawian pair of Msowoya Chikuepo and Victory Nyirenda. Mukura took the lead on the 37th minute through Kassim Hassan but a sensational hat-trick from APR’s rising star Emmanuel Sebanani a.k.a Crespo and a spot kick from Bebeto Lwamba completed the rout to earn the side their 13th win of the season. “We are in a good position to retain our title although our next three games will give us a better picture.” “But the way we played against Mukura shows that we have the desire to kill off games and take control which is good,” he added. “Right now, we need to keep our feet on the ground and continue working hard because things in football change very fast.” APR tops the table with 42 points, two clear of Atraco and a further three points above Etincelles.
