While the varsity side trails reigning champions and table leaders APR by two points, the team which has bagged 19 points already enjoys a five-point cushion over UNATEK but Nyirimana maintains that they have to stay on their toes. “They have grown into a strong side and we know that we can not afford to take them lightly. They are very athletic and will nail you down with every opportunity they get,” he said. UNR, who have been overshadowed by APR and KVC over the last three years feel this could be their season. “We are getting our consistency back and the confidence is building as well. If we keep winning, we shall have a good shot at the trophy,” Nyirimana added. Since 2000, UNR has won three titles; 2001, 2003 and 2006. Ends
