African states seek action on illicit financial flows
Africa’s Finance and Development Ministers want national financial intelligence units strengthened as one of the operative actions of curtailing illicit financial flows from the continent. The Ministers were meeting in Lilongwe, Malawi on March 29 and 30, 2010 ahead of the third joint annual meeting of the African Union (AU) and said that the units are responsible for improving the collection of statistics on financial flows.
