Students launch film on Genocide ideology

KIGALI - With only days left to the commemoration of the 16th anniversary of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi, university students from both The School of Finance and Banking (FSB) and the Adventist University of Central Africa, yesterday launched a film on genocide ideology. The launch of the film titled “Have pity on me”, locally translated as Ngirira Impuhwe, took place at Petite Stade in Remera and is a product of 13 actors from a group known as Dreaming Generation. “This film is aimed at fighting genocide ideology through revealing effects of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi so that people never let it happen again,” Oreste Ntirenganya, the Vice Coordinator of Dream Generation and an actor, told The Sunday Times. The 90 minute show which took the group about eight months to produce, precisely summarizes and gives the image of what the Genocide meant and means for Rwanda. “In the same film, we prove to the world, especially those with contradicting views, to understand what exactly happened in our country and our determination in fighting against its effects,” he said.
