I have read in your paper that the National Paralympics Committee (NPC) is set to stage a power lifting tournament. Although it has come at a time when the national team has failed to secure funds to send its lifters to the African power lifting championship but at least it will give the Rwandans an eye of such a game. We are anxious to see it happening probably it will not fail since the National Paralympics Committee president Dominique Bizimana said it himself. I also hear that the tournament is really important since it will be aiming at finding capable lifters whom they will try to secure a wild card invitation from the international body (IPC) for the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, China. That is already putting us on the international scene of which Rwanda must really be happy more especially for a man like heavy weight lifting. Even though the game seems to be low, it also gives a chance to make it grow, few people in the game does not make it inferior. This reminds me of how Rugby started in Rwanda at a time where it needed everybody’s attention before it grew. I think the three guys for the particular game that were ready for the competition can do great work if really catered for well in food diet because the guys they will be facing in china have all they need to make it happen. Paralympics is among the five disciplines that represent Rwanda in the 2008 Beijing Olympics and they have the only least number of athletes who have beat qualification standards. The game not only needs greater support but also a good environment in Rwanda. I wish some concerned and influential capable people would talk to the football federation because there is a great mess. Kabeza
