BY BONNIE MUGABE Atraco Fc have entered residential camp ahead of Saturday’s Amahoro Cup semifinal clash with Kibuye at Amahoro stadium. Pushing for their first silverware since joining topflight division last year, the taxi-men side went into residential camp yesterday with double training sessions a day at Shyorongi while residing at Isano Guest House in Gikondo. After missing out on both the league and cup last season under Sam Ssimbwa, the club interim coach Capt. Jean Marie Ntagwabira is determined to make ends meet this time. “We have intensified our preparations and hopefully nothing will stop us from wining Saturday’s game and hence qualify for the finals,” he vowed. About the new signing, the former APR coach noted that once they all get their International Transfer Certificates, they will be a major boost to the team’s campaign for a double this season. “All our new players are yet to secure ITCs from their former clubs and it is up to the federation [Ferwafa] to decide on what we can do,” he admitted. Atraco has already signed four new players including; striker Athuman Mohammed a.k.a Machupa, goalkeeper Mohammed Mossi, defender Tambwe Ngoyi and midfielder Freddie Bulema. Ahead of Saturday’s clash, Ntagwabira is boosted with the good news that the trio of Ismail Nshutinamagara, Theoneste Muhayimana and Bonaventure Hakizimana has returned from national team duties injury-free. Atraco reached this stage after seeing off rivals Kiyovu 2-1 in group ‘B’ play-off while Kibuye saw of giants Rayon Sports to qualify as group ‘D’ leaders. In the second semifinal, defending champions APR Fc take on youthful side AS-Kigali on Sunday at the same venue.
