Are you obsessed with movies? Head to Cine Star Cinema in Nyamirabo, and watch your favourite movies from Friday to Sunday on a big screen. Friday 7p.m: Twilight(English). Vampires and romance are nothing new, but Twilight gives them enough of a twist to make it interesting and the film delivers enough on that twist to make it far better than its outlying plot makes it sound 9p.m: Knowing. In 1958, as part of the dedication ceremony for a new elementary school, a group of students is asked to draw pictures to be stored in a time capsule. But one mysterious girl fills her sheet of paper with rows of apparently random numbers instead. Fifty years later, a new generation of students examines the capsule’s contents and the girl’s cryptic message ends up in the hands of young Caleb Koestler. But it is Caleb’s father, professor John Koestler, who makes the startling discovery that the encoded message predicts with pinpoint accuracy the dates, death tolls and coordinates of every major disaster of the past 50 years. SATURDAY 7p.m: Avatar (French). Avatar is this year’s movie that people who think they’re smart love to hate. And I guess I think I’m smart, so here goes. If Avatar was made without ridiculous mind-blowing visual effects technology, it would’ve been nearly universally panned. SUNDAY 7p.m: The fast and the furious (French). This fourth entry in THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS franchise reunites the original stars: Michelle Rodriguez, Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster, and of course the bad dude himself, Vin Diesel. Needless to say, there’s going to be a lot of speed and demolition, especially in the fantastic opening truck hijack executed at amazing speeds by Dominic (Diesel) and his sexy partner in crime, Letty (Rodriguez). 9p.m: Armored (English).
