When shall we have our own medical experts?

Editor, I’m grateful for the team of 67 medical experts from the South African foundation, Operation Smile, who are in the country to perform free cliff lip and cliff palate surgeries on 240 patients. I only wish we would train our own experts so that we aren’t held hostage to other peoples travel arrangements. I wonder if there is a way that the medical school at the National University of Rwanda can expand and start producing Rwandan experts as well.
