BK unveils new branch in Gicumbi

GICUMBI - The management of Bank de Kigali (BK), has assured its clients of efficient service delivery at all BK branches countrywide. The bank’s Managing Director, James Gatera, made the remarks last Saturday at Hotel URUMULI, in Gicumbi District during the official launch of BK-Gicumbi branch. “BK is committed to working in line with government’s development strategies, by extending loans to agriculture and livestock farmers’ cooperatives, the business community, small scale traders and employees of private or public sectors,” Gatera said. “Our modern banking systems that use Automatic Teller machines (ATM) and credit cards are aimed at facilitating our clients transact their businesses efficiently, within and outside Rwanda.” The provincial Governor, Aime Bosenibamwe, called on members of the private sector involved in construction of commercial and residential houses, to take advantage of BK’s presence and loan facilities. “The money is knocking at your doors, you should utilize this opportunity to boost your businesses,” he said. Bosenibamwe also advised cooperative societies in the district, commonly known as Umurenge SACCO, to open up savings accounts with the bank. “Sector leaders should sensitize residents on the importance of opening up saving accounts because it is part of the strategies to eradicate poverty,” he added. The bank’s Gicumbi branch manager, Allen Muhongayire, said the bank has so far registered over 700 new accounts holders, since it opened in September last year. She assured Gicumbi residents that loans to support their economic activities were at their disposal. The inauguration ceremony was attended by members of the private sector, religious leaders and district authorities. Ends
