Kabahizi donates iron sheets to Rubavu hill residents

In a move to encourage residents who live on the slopes of Rubavu hill to relocate, the Governor of the Western Province, Celestin Kabahizi, has donated 2,250 iron sheets to the 50 most vulnerable families. Since the beginning of 2009 when heavy rains caused a landslide on the hill resulting in the deaths of three people, the district and other partner institutions like Rwanda Environment Management Authority (REMA, have been looking into ways of relocating the residents.
