Rwanda and Congo sign energy pact
KIGALI - The Governments of Rwanda and the Republic of Congo (Brazzaville) yesterday afternoon signed an agreement to cooperate in the Energy sector at the ministry of infrastructure. The agreement was signed by the Minister of State in charge of Energy and Water, Coletha Ruhamya and Jean Bruno Itoua of Congo. The signing follows a three-day visit to Rwanda by a joint government and UN delegation from the Republic of Congo visit to several alternative energy projects like Mini Water Hydro Plants and the Methane Gas Project in Kivu Lake. Speaking at the event, Ruhamya said that the agreement was meant to enhance cooperation between the two countries in order to facilitate development and eradicate poverty.
