NORTHERN PROVINCE MUSANZE — Population service international-PSI has donated fourteen sewing machines to orphaned youth who completed six-month vocational training. Thirty of 75 orphans and other vulnerable children across the district who were offered apprenticeship training in catering, tailoring and carpentry have been offered related work in different areas in Musanze. Speaking during the function Staci Leuschner, the coordinator PSI-Rwanda said by equipping the youth with technical skills they would sustain themselves by creating jobs. Bishop John Ruchahana, of Shira dioceses challenged the youth to live responsible lives in order to carry out productive activities for the sake of their bright future. He said that youth would be instrumental in realizing sustainable development in the country. Close to 52% of the general population in Musanze are said to be youth. Ends
