Ms Victoire Ingabire: Evil driven and not about to change her political agenda

This so-called presidential candidate, trapped in her obsolete vision of a Rwanda only seen through ethnic lenses, would, if common sense was common to all, have by now noticed that her exclusively Hutu-Tutsi discourse can no longer have a political place in the current Rwandan society. Although we have always known her as fed and bred on ethnic-based politics, her masterly of the spreading of the genocide ideology has gone beyond normal expectations. The utter shock is particularly so because she is now in the country to see the glaring reality for herself, but yet she is sworn to live in the past while unsuccessfully trying to re-incarnate the very ideology that led Rwanda into the 100 dark days in 1994! It is indeed no wonder that her organization, the FDU-Inkingi for which she is leader, is collaborating with the likes of FDLR/Interahamwe and other subversive groups that have a sworn objective of finishing the unfinished agenda of genocide. It is indeed another unusual surprise that some so-called human rights groups are up in arms claiming harassment of the so-called opposition by the Rwandan government. This unfair over-protection of a carrier of genocide ideology in a country that is only fifteen years out of genocide that researchers know was planned over a 35-year period, only points to a sinister plot that that does not abode well with Rwandans in particular, and Human Rights in their true sense in general. This raises a question as to whether the strategy of the authors of such reports by Human Rights organizations aims at a re-incarnation or perpetuation of human crises just for the sake of selfish reasons of keeping themselves employed. In a press release of February 10, HRW Director Africa, Georgette Gagnon stated that “Opposition party members are facing increasing threats, attacks, and harassment in advance of Rwanda’s August 2010 presidential election… In the past week, members of the FDU-Inkingi and the Democratic Green Party of Rwanda - new opposition parties critical of government policies - have suffered serious incidents of intimidation by individuals and institutions close to the government and the ruling Rwandan Patriotic Front (RPF). One member of the FDU-Inkingi was beaten by a mob in front of a local government office. The attack appeared to have been well coordinated, suggesting it had been planned in advance…” For such a senior member of an International NGO pretending probity to release this terribly biased statement, reveals its true character, but most of all its sworn hatred for the RPF led government and blind love for the likes of the FDU-Inkingi and its evil-minded leader. To baselessly describe the yet-to-be registered subversive group, the FDU-Inkingi, and the so-called Democratic Green Party as opposition parties is a deliberate attempt to legitimize these otherwise inexistent entities whilst cleansing all of them blatantly of any filth that may be in their closet. In an interview with the East African (February 15-21, 2010), the controversial Rwandan lady once again displays her ignorance or deliberate refusal to acknowledge the obvious reality on the ground and her obsession for ethnic-based politics. When asked what package she will offer women, she confusedly says “I will promote peace and reconciliation, because women abhor violence, I will ensure that there are more women in power…” Obviously her mother is not part of such women as she was condemned in absentia to 30 years imprisonment in 2007 for killing after torturing pregnant Tutsi women at her health center in Butamwa of Kigali despite her having been a medical practitioner thus expected to protect her patients as her profession would have required her. As for ensuring that there are more women in power, one wonders which country she is talking about as it is public knowledge that Rwanda is internationally recognized as a shining example in the empowerment of women. Responding to another question, Ms Ingabire clearly undermines the Tutsi genocide, a crime punishable by law. Indeed what does she mean when she says “…Tutsis and Hutus should be held responsible for crimes against humanity. We need to sit together as Rwandans, analyze the genocide and come up with solutions to this problem. It is wrong to tell Rwandans not to talk about ethnic groups...Genocide took place 16 years ago and now it is time for democracy…” Is she confused or rather craftily hoping to change the Rwandan history by qualifying the 1994 genocide against Tutsis as to have been a double genocide in a strategy meant to cleanse and protect her ideologues; her own mother and other Gacaca convicts inclusive? Of course she is preaching the gospel purposely and with a clear mission of erasing the Rwandan history and creating her own that perpetuates politics of divisions and protects her ideologues. She, however, either out of ignorance or otherwise, neglects the fact that now is different from 1994, because there is a government that preaches and practices unity as well as Rwandan laws that aim at achieving exactly that as opposed to the 1994 when the very government that had a duty to protect all Rwandans plotted instead to eliminate a section of the Rwandan community just for how they were born. In an apparent semblance of political game to not continually deny the extreme obvious or total loss of words, she for once did admit in Newstime Africa of February 15, when asked whether she sees anything positive done by the Kagame regime at all, she had this to say: “… Of course, Today Rwanda is a country recognized internationally for many great things. This is something they’ve really worked on. Look at Kigali; it is one beautiful city, the cleanliness. In education, every child now has a chance to go to school. Due to poverty many parents weren’t able to pay the school fees but now the free nine year basic education is taking care of that…”One would however be totally naïve to believe that this ‘forced acknowledgement’ was any change of heart but rather should know that she is indeed ideologically sworn to do all that is in her physical and mental capacity to re-incarnate the pre-1994 artificially created differences between Rwandans in the hope that it would bring her to power with whatever consequences on Rwanda and Rwandans in general. Facts are well documented; she has had a background that has groomed her to be the character she is today, and all her activities since returning from her self-imposed exile on January16, all point to her a much-cherished vision of dividing Rwandans. Her summoning by the National Police should indeed be a welcome development that ought to give assurances both to Rwandans and other peace lovers that Rwandans are indeed protected against those who aim at dividing them in a manner symptomatic to the times of the infamous radio RTLM. Let this controversial Rwandan lady be informed that we as Rwandans, have said Never Again and that she together with her ideologues will not deter us, but rather make the vanguard even more determined to achieve the much adored goal of Unity for all. muhetofe@gmail.com
