BY JULIUS MBARAGA Emmanuel Ruterana has been invited to take part in this year’s Crane Bank Open Golf tournament that tees off this Saturday at Kitante Golf Club in Kampala, Uganda. According to the Ugandan media, the two day-event open to professional golfers within the region has US$3000 at stake for the winner, courtesy of Crane Bank, one of Uganda’s leading commercial banks. The event will be Ruterana’s third competitive event since joining the professional ranks early this year. The 22-year-old’s other appearances have been in the Uganda and Kenya Open tournaments. Though, Times Sport could not confirm the number of players expected at the weekend event, previous tournament statistics dictate that a big number normally turns up. Ruterana has an uphill task to climb at this year’s edition against Uganda’s home-based pros Dennis Anguyo, Deo Akope and Charles Yokwe who have been in impeccable form lately.
