When Oris was seven days old, his mother Vodo was lying alone in her room, half asleep. Suddenly, she saw three strange women in the room; they were tall and thin, with long and dark hair, with dull grey dresses. These were the misfortunes, the three sisters who held in their hands the power of life or death, and decided every thing that would happen to a man during his life time. One of the sisters spoke to Vodo, the mother of Oris who was lying in the room, “you are lucky to have a very handsome baby, but remember that your baby will not live longer than that burning wood in the fire”, and after speaking those words the sisters disappeared. Cinderella was shocked to hear that her little son’s life would be ending so soon, and she began crying, suddenly she realised that there was only one thing she could do, not only to save her baby, but to keep him alive forever. She jumped from her bed, and snatched the wood from the fire. She put the burning end into a pot of water, and then hid the wood carefully in the box which was in her room. When Oris grew up, he loved princess Atalanta, the daughter of King Shodeka, Atalanta had grown among hunters, so she also learnt how to hunt, and she became a very good hunter, better than most men even. Many men disliked her because of this reason; they thought that women should not try to do things which men do. One day, on a boar hunt, she shot the first arrow, which hit the boar and wounded it, so that the other hunters were soon able to kill it. Those days the person who first shot the animal, was considered the best hunter that day, and would be given a prize. So Atalanta was given the skin of a boar as her prize. Two uncles of Oris lay in hiding on the way so that they would steal the skin from Atalanta, as she was going back home. When they held her, she cried for help, and among the people who came to help her included Oris, the man who would marry her later. He became so angry that he killed both his uncles. When his mother heard of this un natural deed, she decided to revenge for her two brothers’ death. She took out the half burnt piece of wood, which she had hidden many years before, and put it into the fire, watching it until it was all burnt. At that particular moment, the little piece of wood became ashes Oris fell on the battle field, and died instantly. Ends
