Society debate; Is valentines day worth the celebrations?

Only the unromantic will neglect valentines Every once a year, we get to celebrate something unique and special. It could be a day for the heroes, a friend’s birthday or a mother’s day. Come Sunday, we’ll be celebrating St. Valentines Day, the day of you, the lovers. I’ve heard people giving hullabaloo excuses that they don’t need a Valentines Day to show their appreciation to their loved ones. On the contrary, I believe that if you can’t even show affection in a special way to your partner on Valentines, there is definitely something wrong with you. Personally, I scorn whichever being thinks that they can possibly throw a magic wind on Valentines Day and woo their mates after staging a habitually distasteful unloving character throughout the year. It should not be a means to an end. Valentines should be a day that crowns it all, a day that celebrates what you have done for each other. For God’s sake, it’s just one day out of 356 days. It’s not a day for proving your love, but a day for valuing your love. If you took a close look at all the holidays in a year, none of them really focuses on you as much as Valentines does. This is a day especially designed for you and your love. Skipping it would turn you into a non-romantic brute that doesn’t care about the feelings of the people you love.people say that they don’t celebrate this day because it doesn’t have a clear history- that it’s an unfounded myth celebrating a saint or saints who were executed under unclear circumstances. However, you will find these same people giggling and eating away on Christmas day, yet historically, 25th December can’t be proved as Jesus’ real birthday. I mean, if you don’t want to celebrate anything that you are not sure of its origins, why bother with all the other ancient celebrations? People should quit giving funny excuses just for the sake of skipping this romantic red and black day! Then we have that gentleman who for financial reasons will re-crucify Saint Valentine. One thing I have figured in this new millennium is, people are still suffering from a lack of creativity. You find capable young men hypnotizing that without money; they can’t possibly make their mates happy. You don’t have to spend a load of cash on Valentines. Just be creative. Instead of going out to an expensive restaurant, maximize on a candle lit dinner with your sweetheart at the balcony of your home, while John Lennon’s “Oh my love” plays softly off a customized CD. Considering the fact that Rwanda shares a lot of the French culture, it would be suicidal if any of you forgot to show affection to your mates on Valentines. People say that the French are very romantic people. As a matter of fact, France has the highest number of honeymoon vacations in a year. More to that, terms like the “French kiss” don’t need much emphasis about their origins. Rwanda has rubbed off from the romantic nature of the French Culture; therefore, it would be stupid to skip Valentines Day unless you don’t mind a nonredeemable breakup. Ends
