Ms Ingabire Victoire Umuhoza’s evil mission critically opposed by the Diplomatic Community

The controversial Rwandan lady is clearly and correctly identified not only by Rwandans, but by other peace lovers as only aiming at re-incarnating the archaic politics of divisions. Like the Kinyarwanda adage: the days of a thief are forty, this divisionist Rwandan woman will have to tame herself and abide by the Constitution and laws as she is increasingly being called for by both Rwandans of all categories and foreign diplomats. As reported by the Rwanda News Agency, the new EU Envoy to Rwanda, Ambassador Michel Arron, said “hard talking Ms. Ingabire needs to refrain from making declarations which pour oil into the fire other than facilitating meaningful debate on different issues. She should avoid falling in this trap of escalating her declarations leading to scuffles in the streets.” This indeed is good advice to Ms Ingabire in a diplomatic language, although, knowing her personal weaknesses and sworn ideology, we doubt whether the controversial lady will pick the message. Her wild declarations already caused a scuffle at Kinyinya Sector in Gasabo District early this month. Even before her arrival in Rwanda, I laboured to openly, through this column, offer free counsel to her and other members of her subversive group, the FDU-Inkingi, on the virtues of new Rwanda and the manner in which the Rwandans of today are determined never to live in the past as they know pretty well the hell it would lead them to. In the interest of peace and as an obligation to inform the public, we continued to give this free advice even after her arrival in the country following her self-imposed exile. However, we haven’t seen any signal of relenting on her discourse of divisive propaganda that she selfishly hopes to cash on in her mission of changing the Rwandan history to suit her egoistic interests. She works blindfolded or is probably remote-controlled and hopes to turn the political tables, erase the 1994 Genocide against Tutsis and consequently exonerate either those already convicted of Genocide or still hiding from justice, not least her own mother, Ms Theresa Dusabe who by the way was years back sentenced in absentia to life imprisonment. We have also indicated in the past how her egoism - the case of her mother, is a major motivation for her rhetoric against the Justice system in Rwanda thus the empty personal promises she has made to Genocide convicts she has so far visited in Rwanda that she is here to save them. This also explains the latest virulent attacks and propaganda that is making the rounds in western capitals against the recent arrest of Mr. Ntawangundi Joseph, her assistant. Mr. Joseph Ntawangundi’s arrest is related to his earlier sentence to 19 years for his role in the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi in the Eastern Province. Propaganda by the FDU-Inkingi among those they think are unsuspecting in western capitals is that this suspect was out of the country during the Genocide. This person was indeed unknown in the hierarchy of this group before the arrival of Ms. Ingabire in Rwanda last month, so what could have prompted his trial on September 19, 2007, insignificant as he was at the time rather than Ms. Ingabire herself or others that are high in the hierarchy of this group? Of late, this messiah of Genocide convicts is being strongly advised by the diplomatic community. Originally, she had strategically but naively hoped the International Community would come to her support in her evil plans against the unity of Rwanda. Following the failure of the military option through ALIR and now FDLR/Interahamwe, the leaders of these subversive groups — including the RDR cum FDU-Inkingi of Ms. Ingabire — are hoping to politically cash-in on dividing Rwandans guided by the strategy that led to the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi. But one lesson that they failed to clearly understand is that they succeeded in a manner they did back in 1994 because it was government then that was planning and latter saw the execution of this apocalypse. The government in place today is focused on unity of purpose and working towards the general development of the Rwandan people. What is valuable to Rwandans today is development and not the destruction that the likes of Ingabire are working for. In his comments, the new EU Ambassador added that “we are in a country where the vast majority of Rwandans and authorities want to base the development of the country on this feeling of one nation, one country and on a consensual basis”. Indeed this clearly spells out what Ingabire and her fellow self-exiled ideologues have either deliberately — or out of capacity problems — failed to grasp. Either they don’t want to acknowledge this clear fact due to their adoration for backward looking politics or cannot, out of their sheer ignorance and lack of readiness to learn. Surely the team led by Ingabire that is in the country ought to have by now used the opportunity to learn a few lessons, but probably as the saying indeed goes: common sense isn’t common to all. Be as it may however, Rwandans in general are determined to never again live in the past but rather to move ahead, network with others in the global village, learn good lessons from success stories on the globe, borrow good virtues from the Rwandan culture. and keep away from the terrible past as we continue to build the future that is a legacy to the Rwandans of tomorrow. For sure, the likes of Ms. Ingabire and her cohorts are day dreamers who can never once again be in the leadership of this country. Young Rwandans are watching and learning the history of this country, have seen or heard about the effects of politics of divisions and equally can see the advantages of unity. Indeed, countries the world-over that have succeeded are those that have embraced unity and pooled resources together, be it human or otherwise. It is indeed the same logic that has probably informed the urge of countries in our region to integrate into bigger single markets with bigger markets and obviously human skills. Based on our past revelations on the person of Ms. Ingabire, however, it is not at all surprising that her likes may behave in a manner opposite to the norms and demands of these modern times.
