WOMAN 2 WOMAN : Are you the best parent?

Are you the type that comes home and your children start running to seek refuge in their rooms because they can’t stand the wraths of your anger every time you set foot in the house? That they will even stop laughing because you will be furious about what is making them laugh and you make them whisper to each other, for you command silence in the house? Do you ever find time to talk to your children not in a way of asking them what they haven’t done but in a free and friendly manner to find out some of their problems and share some of their happiest moments? Don’t be the type of parent that looks at parenting as a way of getting exhausted, frustrated and being stuck with your kids. As young people we all wish to one time have some children call us mummy or papa, who wouldn’t love that feeling? Anyone can make a good parent so long as you try to understand what your children want. Children love having their parents close by their side to share with them some of the happy moments, they had during day. But if you don’t find for your children they would prefer having your neighbour for their mum because they have never heard her bark or even quarrel at her own. Let us face this in sincerity; bringing up a child is not something simple. It requires someone to be more dedicated to what you think is best for your children; yet there is no school that will teach you how to do it best. Much as you want them to do all their responsibilities on time you should allow them time to have fun once in a while. Just find ways of making them balance their fun and their duties. While you need to know what your children love most you have to ensure that they grow up in the most health way.You might get chance to read some guide lines about parenting but if you do not know how to do the practical part of it you will not attain anything. Parenting is not about the literature we read, it is about knowing what to do for your kids because you possibly know them better than anyone else. Be a warrior to your children, someone they will run to in case of trouble, someone that understands when they are in pain and suffering. They need you as their healer, one that has heart and will feel sorry for them when they need sympathy, offer them love. This gives them the power to get better. Children need their parents’ guidelines all the time; they need you as a teacher and not as a punisher much as they would need to be straightened sometimes. Since teachers impart wisdom, your children need that wisdom from you too.
