EDITORIAL : School starts, be confident

As school starts there are probably children at your school who feel shy to mingle with others. They look down when someone speaks to them because they lack self confidence. Times like these are the best for children to build self confidence. Self-confidence is when you simply love yourself and think you are the best. God said He created us in His own image and likeness. This means He made us in a way he liked the most. You don’t have to be perfect in everything. The trick is to appreciate and believe in who you are. Children can have self-confidence if they don’t wait for other people to do everything for them. When you are praised for your good work, your confidence grows, when you read hard and participate in class, your confidence grows even bigger and when you learn to speak with no fear , then you have learnt the secret to success- confidence. In the same way, make it a habit to praise your friends when they do something good for you and encourage them when they feel down. In this way you are building their confidence too. You can appreciate them by saying words like, “Thank you, you are smart or you have a nice school bag!” This will help them become confident. Discouraging your friends does not help them become confident. Always look for the good in others and in the same way they will also see the good in you.
