Just like he vowed to come back to Kigali and give a much-awaited show to his fans during his first performance in Kigali, Nigerian musician Joseph Akinwale Akinfenwa commonly known as Joeboy didn’t disappoint in the 2022 Kigali Fiesta mega show. Joeboy was initially expected to perform at the Kigali Fiesta Live Concert as the main act in July but organisers eventually postponed it to buy more time to organise it. It is no secret that Rwandans’ love for shows is increasing daily if sold out tickets were anything to go by. Revelers were excited and impatient to yet again see one of their favorite artistes, but before Joeboy came to stage Rwandan artists including Chriss Eazy, Kiss Summer Awards 2022 artist and new artist of the year Kenny Sol, Bruce Melodie, Bushali, Christopher, as well as fast rising Bwiza brought a groovy vibe to the stage. Artists were creative in making an entrance that brought screams of cheers from the crowd. Bwiza who appeared first on the stage made a thrilling entrance, wearing a half-black and white dress, escorted by four men who had fire on their hats. This uncommon way of showing up to the stage had the crowd amazed and impressed. Bwiza’s vocals and hit song ‘exchange’ had the crowd singing their hearts out and cheering hard as they could. Chriss Eazy who is best known for his hits like ‘Inana’, ‘Amashu’, and ‘Basi sori’, was the second to come on stage in the traditional attire “umishanana”. Fans were waiting impatiently for the hit song ‘Inana’ and as soon the beat dropped the crowd couldn’t contain itself, everyone danced like it was their first time hearing the song again. Backed up by a very entertaining crew Kenny Sol, had the crowd jamming up to ‘Forget’, ‘Haso’, and the much anticipated ‘Terimometa’ by Dj Philpeter ft Kenny Sol, that saw girls joining him on stage to dance with him. Christopher brought back memories and nostalgia when he performed ‘Habona’, ‘Irijoro’, ‘Ndabyemeye’, and left the crowd filled with emotions after ‘Hashtag’. The stage was also blessed by dancers like Jojo Breezy and Djs who knew how to move the crowd with their diverse mix. Masters of Ceremony Buryohe and Anita Pendo also didn’t disappoint with warming up the revelers. During his performance, producer Element didn’t fail to remind the crowd that he is still the best after performing his hit song ‘Kashe’. Bushali also made an unforgatable entrance, with his crew carrying firesticks and wearing samurai attire. He also made sure to bring his son on stage, as has become his custom. The artist did not fail the crowd as he performed almost all of his loved songs including ‘Bahabe’, ‘Ni tuebue’, and ‘Tsikizo’. Bruce Melodie who many were waiting for got even the ones seating during the whole show on their feet. The most loved artist by many had a splendid performance and left everyone hyped up with the hit song ‘Akinyuma’. After what felt like a day of waiting for the man of the show, Joeboy appeared on stage in a green suit, the crowd couldn’t contain their excitement as he came up to the stage and some fans didn’t know how to react seeing their favorite artist. Joeboy proved his worth when he appeared on stage at 1:33 AM. Songs like ‘Beginning’, ‘Baby’, ‘Don’t call me back', ‘Show me’ and many others marked the night. The 25-year-old made sure to engage with all his fans, he high-fived almost everyone that was at the VIP section and made sure all his fans were having fun. “Should we call it a night”, the Nigerian singer teased the crowd, but came back with the last hit that everyone was waiting for with so much energy, ‘Sip my alcohol’ closed the night and left a happy crowd of fans. Before leaving the stage, Joeboy thanked and bowed to his fans, leaving an incredible mark in Kigali.
