Nigerian musician Joeboy on Thursday, December 1, arrived in Kigali as he gets ready to entertain Kigali’s music enthusiasts ahead of Kigali Fiesta mega show slated Saturday, December 3, at BK Arena. The fast rising African music sensation returns to Kigali two years since his performance at the Kigali Jazz Junction in 2020. “I am in love with the city, the food and the people. It’s going to be a beautiful experience...we are going to connect, we are going to create memories,” said the ‘Sip’ hit maker. The 25-year-old, born Joseph Akinwale Akinfenwa, was initially expected to perform at the Kigali Fiesta Live Concert as the main act in July but organisers eventually postponed it to buy more time to organise it. He now comes for a show that had previously featured the likes of Nigerian counterpart Omah Lay and Tanzanian music super star Diamond Platnumz. He will be joined on stage by Rwanda’s renowned musicians Bruce Melodie, Chriss Eazy, Bwiza, Kenny Sol, Christopher and Bushali. However, the show doesn’t feature rapper Ish Kevin despite the fact that Joeboy revealed that he is up to something big with the fast-rising rapper. “The artist I would love to work with is Ish Kevin. I may not understand the language of his music but I like his vibes,” said Joeboy upon arrival at Kigali International Airport Thursday, December 1. Early-bird tickets are available for bookings via www.ticqet.rw at Rwf5000 for regulars, Rwf15,000 for VIPs and Rwf25,000 for VVIPs.
