How to achieve this Divine Bakhita Kayitesi, an ICT teacher in Bugesera District says when you instill the urge of learners to know about technology, you are also building and encouraging teamwork, which is very crucial in any learning environment. She says teamwork in the workplace is important and employers mostly consider this as part of the priorities while recruiting people. “The best way out however is to put much effort in helping your learners prepare for their careers by using technology to collaborate amongst themselves,” she says. On the other hand, Nsamaza says technology can build learners' careers by sharpening their thinking skills. He says just like teamwork, critical thinking skills are probably the most important skills employers want to see in potential candidates. As educators, focusing on such skills will not only help them develop their careers but also, help your students access tools and resources online that will allow them to develop habits of working through challenging tasks and employing creative problem-solving. In addition to this, he says when young people use different technologies in learning settings, it helps encourage the spirit of responsibility among learners. He goes on to add that this can help them develop a sense of responsibility that will aid them in their careers now and in the future. Meanwhile, it has also been established that people who make a career out of learning are most successful in business and in life. In this regard, studies indicate that if learners can use technology to spark their curiosity to learn, one may just spark a lifelong passion that will help them in their careers. Besides, this also helps evaluate students with online education portfolios, which aid students express creativity in areas that are difficult to assess.
