Editor, I’m impressed by the fact that the Rwanda Athletics Federation (RAF) have already selected the five top athletes in the country, who will start early preparations for the 2012 London Olympics. Its only proper that our athletes begin prepping early for these Olympics because I’m tired of our athletes going to such games as mere tourists. We should be going there with genuine chances of winning medals. I will not assume that lack of preparation is the cause of our medal drought, but I believe that if we are to have a chance against the big guns like the Kenyans and Ethiopians, we have to go to London at the peak of our powers.
