A four day workshop organised for journalists ended with a call on scribes to utilize the Press House to improve their career. The workshop that was held at La Pallise in Nyandungu focused mainly on assessing and analysing the role of the Press House (Maison de la Presse) to local members of the press. Most journalists criticised the body for failing in its role as a professional resource centre that should be organising workshops and debates for scribes as well as networking. Speaking during the workshop, the president of Rwanda Press House, Albert Rudatsimburwa urged journalists to form a strong and solid association so as to promote professionalism in the country. The Press House was established by United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 1996 to encourage regular interaction of journalists and provide a place where free discussions can take place.
