Editor,I particularly loved Queen Elizabeth’s message to the Rwandan people, as she congratulated us on being admiited to the Commonwealth, as reported in The New Times. In her message she said that “both Rwanda and the Commonwealth will gain greatly from this new relationship”. That statement is 100% true. While those that opposed our bid acted like there would only be a positive gain on the Rwandan side and none whatsoever on the part of the Commonwealth, this was patently untrue. We as a Rwandan nation and peoples have a lot to offer to the world, and I think that the Commonwealth will be a richer, more diverse and all inclusive body of nations because of our involvement. This is a win-win situation and nobody should forget about it! Eric NkurunkizaRemera
