Bernard Muasya, Head of Finance at BPR Bank, hailed the partnership existing between BPR Bank and Kigali Golf Club in organizing two successful editions of the PMC Golf Open. “The bank is proud to yet again partner with Kigali Golf Club in hosting the PMC Open 2022. This tournament is an exhibition of BPR Bank values; simple, inspiring and friendly,” Muasya said. “I am happy to note that this has been the highest Golf tournament participation and attendance this year. Our involvement in developing golf in Rwanda will be long term as we continue to witness the game’s resurgence in the country,” he added. Anthony Ocwit is one of the members of the team that organised the PMC Golf Open 2022. With the bank’s support, he said, the tournament has potential to attract a wide range of people to have interest in the sport and hence grow the game in terms of audience and competition. Speaking during the awards ceremony for the just-concluded tournament Saturday, November 26, at Kigali Golf Club, the organizer said, “The Golf competition is small here as compared to other countries. This club is just a year old and we want it to grow through organizing such tournaments. We want new members to come in” “Playing golf does not only improve people’s health, it also brings about socialization and networking. You get to meet top professionals in various fields,” he further explained. The awards ceremony saw various winners recognized with plaques as well as additional prize vouchers from sponsors for them to enjoy their products. Part of the proceeds raised from the competition will be used to support a charitable cause close to the community in which Piga Mingi Crew (PMC) is based.
