FinalsBoysLDK vs ESKGirlsIFAK vs LDK IFAK and Lycee de Kigali (LDK) have reached the final of the Coca-Cola school’s volleyball tournament after they both won their respective semifinal clashes on Sunday at Kimisagara courts.In the ladies category, IFAK overcame ETSJ in three straight sets while the Lycee de Kigali girls saw off ESSJT in similar fashion. ESSJT beat ETSJ 3-0 to take third position.LDK extended their dominancy into the boy’s category, beating ESSJT 3-0 while Ecole Secondaire Kicukiro (ESK) thrashed St. Andrews by a similar score to set a clash with LDK in the final. ESSJT beat St. Andrew 3-0 to take third place. The finals would be played on December 8.“We did not hope to get such a big turn up of teams and fans. But after what we’ve seen in the first edition, we are optimistic that the tournament could continue next year,” said Martine Gatabazi, after the semi final matches.Bralirwa’s Soft drink Brand manager said that the country’s monopoly brewers have plans to make the tournament an annual event, starting next year.At the Kimisagara event four students won Frw 400.000 in school fees, ten won 10 Coca-Cola school bags and a number of books and pens were also won in the bottle top scratching promotion.A total of 74 students have won 740.000Frw, 380 school bags have been won and thousands of sets of books have been won since the start of the promotion tournament in September.According to Christian Hatumimana, FRVB-Coca-Cola tournament technician, IFAK on the ladies side trained very hard for the results, has financial capabilities and has shown steady improvements until the semis while LDK in the male category has good players and training to win such results.
