CSR targets police recruits

EASTERN PROVINCE: RWAMAGANA — In a bid to create awareness about the rights and obligations of members, the national social Security Fund of Rwanda [CSR] over the weekend extended training to Police recruits undergoing training at Gishari police training camp. About 1300 police trainees attended the lectures with keen interest in knowing about their rights as members of the national security fund. Godfrey Kamukunde area Regional coordinator for CSR said that the group needed to know their individual rights and obligations as they join the civil service. Kamukunde urged the participants to view membership to social security as a fundamental human right enshrined in the universal declaration of human rights of October 12, 1948. Moses Kazora, principle education and custom care officer at CSR emphasized the need for such trainings in order to enlighten members about the essence of social security.“We have taught them about occupational hazards, old age and death packages and how national social security fund intervenes. We also taught them about worker’s contributions, to the social security fund,” Kazora explained. Ends
